Twitter reacts to Will Smith turning down role in ‘Django Unchained’

Will Smith - Drug Scandal Cover

Will Smith realized Django Unchained wasn’t for him after reading the script and realizing the character Django was not the lead. “Django wasn’t the lead, so it was like, I need to be the lead,” Smith said. “The other character was the lead!”

Smith believed that Chris Waltz, who played King Schultz, was the lead. Although the Waltz was listed as the supporting actor and won an Oscar, his role featured the most prominent lines and got a chance to kill the villain.
“I was like, ‘No, Quentin, please, I need to kill the bad guy!’” Smith said.

Twitter recently reacted to Will Smith’s comments.
