Trayvon Martin’s accused killer, George Zimmerman, is awaiting trial. On April 11, 2012, Florida’s special prosecutor filed a charge of murder in the second degree against Zimmerman, who then turned himself in and was placed in custody. On the one-year-anniversary, Zimmerman’s mom, Gladys, writes a letter saying the justice system failed her son and blames the media for spinning the story. Not sure what part of the story the media spinned. Trayvon Martin was 17 years old, unarmed and now he’s dead. George Zimmerman fatally shot him on Feb. 26, 2012. Facts are facts.
Zimmerman’s trial date is set for June 10, 2013.
She writes in part:
“It is imperative now more than ever that George receive fair treatment by the judicial system, as this is the quintessential birthright of every American … Pray not only for George and his family but ask God the Father to speak directly to the hearts of those who have mistreated George for far too long.”
