10 spring fashion trends and more than 50 styles from Macy’s ‘Fashion Star’ Caprice Willard

Caprice Willard fashion Star

Caprice Willard knows a lot about fashion, and after watching the Macy‘s buyer on NBC’s “Fashion Star,” working alongside Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie, we had to get the inside scoop on the smartest way to update your wardrobe with some of the hottest spring and summer fashion trends.

Recently, Willard hosted the “Spring Essentials” fashion event at Macy’s in Atlanta’s Lenox Square Mall. During the styling session, Willard, who is also the  vice president and regional planning manager for women’s apparel for Macy’s southwest region, convinced the crowd that anyone can sport peplum, reminded us why we love lace and revealed a few new tricks to rock prints and bright colors.  And the best part — most pieces can carry you over into the next season and beyond.

Willard tells us that when she’s looking for pieces for the Macy’s man and woman, she’s looking for styles that are “fashion forward, yet accessible and versatile … something they can work back into their existing wardrobe to update it so they don’t have to recreate it every season.” Buying great clothes and saving money — what’s better?

Take a look at a few key fashion trends spotted during the event, and a few ways to wear each. Let us know which ones you’ll be wearing from Macy’s. Don’t forget to take a picture and tweet us @rollingout with the tag, #ROFashionStar!
