Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx showed up to the 2013 MTV Movie Awards and made a very big statement wearing a shirt emblazoned with “Know Justice, Know Peace” and featuring the images of 2012 victims of gun violence – Trayvon Martin and the Sandy Hook victims.

Martin was shot dead by George Zimmerman in Sanford, Fla. last February 2012 and 20 children were killed while attending class at Sandy Hook Elementary Schol in Newtown, Conn. last December.

Foxx tells MTV hosts Josh Horowitz and Karlie Kloss, “We’re just thinking about the children… we’re just protecting our kids,” says Foxx.

Foxx and Samuel Jackson won the  “Best WTF Moment” for the scene where they burn down the evil Candieland plantation in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained. Foxx also won a Generation award.
