Wells Fargo Creates New Banking Store Format
Not to be overshadowed by all the talk about tax deadlines on Monday, April 15, Wells Fargo put their hat in the fodder ring and opened it’s first “neighborhood bank” in Washington, D.C. It’s the talk of the banking industry.
The neighborhood bank features an open floor plan to engage customers one-on-one and a well-designed, nearly 1,000 sq. ft., space allowing more convenience for our customers by fitting into more locations, while maintaining a full complement of team members to provide sales and service assistance. A paperless and secure workflow ensures faster service.
“With this new store concept, we’ll be able to offer person to person sales and service along with leading banking technology in settings that previously would have discouraged us from building a store,” Jonathan Velline, head of Wells Fargo ATM Banking and Store Strategy said in a statement to press. “Stores are central to our strategy of providing excellent service and meeting our customers’ financial needs. This new neighborhood bank concept complements our traditional stores to help us bring the Wells Fargo store experience to more customers.”
Amenities include:
- Team members using a wireless tablet to assist customers – using secure Wi-Fi.
- Large screen ATMs dispensing $1, $5, $20 and $100 bills, in addition to the $20 bills
- After hours the space transitions to provide 24 hour ATM access.
- Private areas for financial conversations
“We expect to evolve the concept as we receive feedback from the new NoMa store,” Velline said. “At Wells Fargo, we believe in using customer feedback to ‘test and learn’ new products, technologies and services as we seek to continuously provide leading banking experience that meets all our customers’ financial needs,” he closes.
