During a showing of the movie The Dark Knight Rises at Century Movie Theater in Aurora, Colorado, Holmes opened fire on moviegoers and killed 12 people. He also injured 58 others. Holmes was eventually arrested and is awaiting trial. The D.A. will seek the Death Penalty.
