Hustle Gang and Talib Kweli: The Tuesday new music rundown

great_gatsby

This is a week of new releases that’s heavy on hip-hop but still manages to showcase a diverse range of ideas. From artsy indie rap, to street hop, to “conscious” hip-hop–there’s a little bit of something for everyone. There are also new releases from two of the late 2000s most acclaimed bands (She & Him, Deerhunter) so it’s a good week to mix things up a bit.

One of the year’s oddest and most anticipated movie soundtracks hits the streets, as well.

T.I.’s Hustle Gang finally get their proper showcase and Talib Kweli may claim to be a “Prisoner of Conscious” but it seems as if he wouldn’t want it any other way.
