While dining at Morton’s steakhouse, on someone else’s dime of course, Maye and Thomason decided to snap a photo of their steak and macaroni and cheese dinner and share with Instagram followers. This lead was just what IRS agents needed to track down the couple accused of selling atleast 700,000 identities, 50,000 of them to allegedly be used for filing falsified tax returns.
The informant, i.e. snitch, had previously revealed to authorities that the man who called himself “Troy” said he was dating Thomason during a meeting at YOLO restaurant in Fort Lauderdale in early January.
The couple plead guilty to aggravated identity theft and possession of unauthorized access devices at a federal court hearing in Fort Lauderdale. Talk about a last supper.
Thomason who is free on bond until her sentencing on July 19 as she wept, told the media, “I was foolish, I was stupid.”
