Kelly Rowland performs the slow ballad that she calls ‘therapeutic,’ “Dirty Laundry.” She shares her “dirty laundry” about living in Beyoncé’s shadow and a partner who was abusive: physically and emotionally. The partner nearly destroyed her relationship with her family and her “sister” Beyoncé.
Here are some of the lyrics:
“Hitting the window like it was me/Until it shattered/He pulled me out and said, ‘Don’t nobody love you but me/Not your mama/Not your daddy/and especially not Bey,’ ” she sang, letting the crowd handle some of the vocals when she was overcome by emotion.
Rowland and The-Dream performed at The Fillmore Silver Spring in Silver Spring, Md.
