Artist Daniel Edwards’ nude fertility statue of Kim Kardashian, entitled ‘L.A. Fertility’ statue, was unveiled at LAB ART Gallery in Los Angeles on Wednesday, June 5.
When Edwards was asked what inspired him to want create a statue of the 32-year-old reality TV star, he xplained that it was created as his response to all the criticism Kardashian has received since announcing her pregnancy.
“I was inspired by the beauty of Kim Kardashian and felt quite put-off by the media’s criticism of her weight gain during pregnancy,” Edwards said during the release of the figurine. “Such criticism should be off limits.”
This isn’t the first controversial celebrity statue Edwards has created. Some of his other artwork includes a 2006 life-sized nude of singer Britney Spears giving birth to son Sean Preston and a statue of Angelina Jolie breast-feeding.
Visitors of the gallery are encouraged to rub the 32-year-old star’s massive belly for luck as they view the statue.
