Just a few days after the announcement that transgender actress Laverne Cox had landed a starring role in a new Netflix comedy, it’s been revealed that gay rapper Big Freedia has landed a new reality TV series which will air on FUSE.

According to Nola.com, the announcement was made by FUSE yesterday when they sent out a press release concerning the show, as well as their other new reality series about the Insane Clown Posse and Italian-American rapper, G-Fella.

The aptly titled series, “Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce,” will follow the charismatic New Orleans rap legend, who has helped to popularize the city’s unique style of bounce music, as she and her bounce buddies Katey Red, Sissy Nobby and Mr. Ghetto try to make their way through the music industry.

Those unfamiliar with Big Freedia, real name Freddie Ross, may remember her from her TV debut on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” or as the rapper on RuPaul’s latest club hit, “Peanut Butter,” where she twerked alongside the drag superstar and her Pit Crew hunks in the bootylicious video.

“Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce” will make its debut on Sept. 18 run for eight episodes. We’ll be sure to tune in because, who wouldn’t want to watch a reality show about gay rappers and New Orleans twerk/bounce music?
