Jay-Z, Beyoncé and other celebs attend Kanye’s Yeezus listening party
After enjoying an intimate birthday bash over the weekend, Kanye West held a listening party for his new Yeezus album. Kanye, 36 went to New York’s Milk Studios for the star studded first listen to his new project. The event was held outdoors at the studio’s loading dock and Kanye apparently couldn’t stop raving about it.
“[The event is ] out here in the middle of New York City blasting music and nobody is shutting us down!” said West according to the Huffington Post.
Attendees included Timbaland, DJ Khaled, Victor Cruz, Busta Rhymes and Q-Tip. Also on hand were Jay-Z and Beyoncé , who were captured on vine dancing and bobbing their heads to the music in a corner. Kanye’s baby’s mother-to-be Kim Kardashian was not in attendance.
In a highlight of the evening, Kanye explained his controversial album title by equating his government name to a slave name.
“I want to explain something about the album title. Simply put, ‘West’ was my slave name and ‘Yeezus’ is my God name,” said Yeezy.
“Yeezus” hits stores June 18.
