The Bling Ring

Based on actual events, this film is about a group of thrill-seeking privileged teenagers who felt entitled to help themselves to other people’s stuff. For this gang of well-to-do miscreants, the hit list included the cream of Hollywood’s upper crust. But it wasn’t only the loot they were after, they wanted to feel famous like the people they were robbing. Ironically, one of the girls was appearing on a reality TV show at the time called “Pretty Wild.” (That’s kinda like being famous, right?) Mission accomplished. Now their misdeeds are immortalized on celluloid. Hope it was worth it. –p.d. lee
