At a time when Jay-Z considered retiring during the mid-2000s, he wrote a farewell letter to the summer and his fans. Known for releasing new music during the summer months, Jay-Z was apparently walking away from rap to be with a new love, corporate America. We all knew it would be a short retirement, but the song signifies how important hip-hop anthems are in the summer.
