It’s definitely been a monumental week for the LGBT community as SCOTUS recently made the historic decision to strike down both DOMA and Prop 8, which denied marriage rights and equality to gay couples. Although several celebrities and politicians have been celebrating through tweets about the landmark decision, Ted Allen, the host of Food Network’s hit show “Chopped,” celebrated by announcing that he and his longtime partner are now engaged.
Proud to announce on this historic day that my partner of 20 years, Barry Rice, and I are engaged to be married. 🙂

Allen has been affectionately referring to Rice as his husband since he first hit it big 10 years ago as the “food and wine connoisseur” on “Queer Eye for Straight Guy.” After revealing the big news to his fans, Allen began field congratulations and responding to the countless well-wishes.
“@VocalLizzy: @ChopTedAllen OMG Mazel Tov!!!!! 🙂 #DOMA is CHOPPED!” DOMA is SO CHOPPED!!!!!

We conrgatulate Allen and Rice on their engagement and we wish them the best on their upcoming wedding. Hopefully, it will be just as great and memorable as the other gay celebrity weddings listed below. – nicholas robinson
