Ralph Bellamy and Don Ameche, now — In the time between that 1983 movie and the 1988 comedy Coming to America, both actors gained new fame. Bellamy, who began his career in the early 1930s and played opposite such legends as Cary Grant and Spencer Tracy, scored roles the epic TV mini-series ‘War and Rememberance’ and 1990’s Pretty Woman with Julia Roberts. He died in 1991 at the age of 81.
Ameche, who like Bellamy began his career in the 30s, saw his stardom sparkle through the 1980s with several high profile roles, such as Cocoon and Cocoon: The Return. His final movie, Corrina, Corrina, with Whoopi Goldberg premiered a year after his death in 1993 at the age of 85.
