Moses and McCoy shared a one bedroom house with four other wives – who addressed each other as sister – and nine children, including Higganbothan. Moses was the head of the polygamous sect and a leader in the cult the Black Hebrew Israelites.
Four others have pleaded guilty to the killings, including the toddler’s mother Vania Sisk, who witnessed Moses put a gun to their son’s head. Higganbothan was shot to death because he struck another child on the buttocks and his father believed he was gay. Sisk allegedly pulled the trigger and killed McCoy, who was brutally beaten before being shot. She will spend 19 years in jail.
