‘Grown Ups 2’ movie review

grownups2

Stars: Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade

Poet Robert Frost wrote that “Home is the place where, when you have to go there, they have to take you in.” Nice sentiment. Lenny Feder (Adam Sandler) didn’t have to go home, he chose to do so. Hoping to create the idyllic childhood for his children that he had, he packs up his brood and returns to his hometown. There’s only one problem, the past is only perfect in our memories, a fact Leder soon realizes.

Sandler assembled a veritable A-list of comedic actors for this film, his first sequel. The early buzz is that this is a home in which laughter reigns supreme, and with stand-up giant Chris Rock and “Saturday Night Live” alums Maya Rudolph and Jon Lovitz on board, how could it not? –p.d. lee
