DMX continues to face personal and financial issues years after experiencing success as a top rapper in hip-hop. According to Wall Street Journal, DMX filed a Chapter 11 petition in Manhattan’s bankruptcy court on July 29. In the petition, DMX listed assets at less than $50,000.

However, the documents revealed that he was $1 million to $10 million in debt. DMX also owes $1.24 million in child support and $21,000 on an auto lease.

In the late ’90s and early 2000s, DMX was a top selling artist in music. With five No. 1 Billboard albums, DMX has sold 30 million albums.

Although DMX found success early in his career, it’s been hard for him to regain the momentum. His last album, Undisputed, only sold 17,000 units in the first week of its release.
