Ashton Kutcher, Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Paris Hilton are just a few of the Hollywood celebrities who have been victimized by identity thieves Kyah Green, 41, and her son, Luis Flores, 19. On June 26, 2013, federal investigators raided their home in Lake Mary, Fla., following a report from American Express of “suspicious activity.”
Investigators estimate they’ve racked up tens of thousands of dollars of debt in the names of these celebrities. Beyoncé, Mel Gibson and Tom Cruise were likely targets as well, because their credit card information was discovered. This bodacious mother-son duo also attempted to steal the identity of FBI Director Robert Mueller, and the U.S. Marshals Service Director Stacia Hylton, according to the Secret Service.
Who knows why they had first lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Attorney General Eric Holder, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and billionaire Bill Gates’ banking information on a flash drive? Really.
Their scheme worked long enough for them to wire more than $70,000 to several bank accounts in central Florida. An employee for AT&T in Orlando, Fla., Flores redirected a co-worker’s direct deposit to his bank account. They called several credit card companies impersonating the celebrities and requesting replacement cards that were sent to their homes.
