Antoinette Tuff honored for saving students from AK-47-toting gunman

Antoinette-Tuff

Antoinette Tuff continues to be recognized as a hero for putting an end to what could have become a disaster. On Aud. 25, Tuff was honored The Way The Truth and The Life Christian Center in Atlanta.

She was given a proclamation for remaining and calm and talking a gunman out of killing innocent kids at McNair Learning Academy. Last week, Michael Brandon Hill, 20, took Tuff as his hostage while holding an AK-47 rifle.

The gunman told her to call a local news station to film as he killed police. However, Tuff was able to talk to Brandon about her life and calmed the gunman down.

Police eventually apprehended Brandon and Tuff has since been recognized as a hero. President Barack Obama called Tuff to thank her for her courageous actions.
