mj thewiz2The Wiz — The offshoot remake of the classic “The Wizard of Oz” — was a certified critical and box office disaster of epic proportions, though it produced the #1 hit, the infectious “Ease on Down the Road,” a duet with costar and fellow Motown legend Diana Ross. But the movie set is known as the place that changed music history. Quincy Jones, already a giant in the industry on many levels, did the musical score for the film. And “Q” and Jackson connected and formed a bond that remains one of the most famous artist-producer collabos ever.
