Deon and Evonne Derrico welcomed a big bundle of joy last Friday at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Phoenix hospital. Evonne, 33, conceived quintuplets naturally with no fertility drugs. The couple initially thought they were having quadruplets but a fifth baby was found in the womb during a later exam at 22 weeks.

Deniko, Dariz, Deonee, Daician and Daiten with each weigh less than three pounds and were being cared for in the neonatal intensive care unit. The healthy babies were carried by mom for an impressive eight months, which is unusual for women carrying multiples.

They are joining a full house of ‘D’ name siblings including a seven-year-old daughter, Dai, a three-year-old boy, Deon and one-year-old twin boys, Dallas and Denver.

The ecstatic dad told reporters, “To go from four for nine, that’s a level of preparation that requires you be a billionaire, but whatever has to be done to take care of my children, I’m going to do it.”
