Man who sent kids to store while he killed girlfriend now brain-dead from stroke

A Brooklyn, N.Y., man is now brain-dead two weeks after killing his girlfriend. According to the NY Daily News, Eric McCormik suffered a stroke on Sept. 30.

Two weeks ago, McCormik sent Sellis Gonzalez’s 15-year-old and 5-year-old daughters to get food from a restaurant. When the girls left the home, McCormik, 40, shot and killed Gonzalez, 44. The girls returned and discovered their mother lying in a pool of blood.


McCormik shot himself twice in the chest, but survived.

McCormik had a history of abuse and was known to be controlling. Police confirmed that he was now in a coma after suffering the stroke.
