David Edwards allegedly sexually assaulted several young boys during his tenure as principal at Douglas Byrd Middle School in Fayetteville, NC. According to ABC 11, Edwards, who also served as a pastor, raped boys from the ages of 11 through 14-years-old from 2009 until 2011.
The most disturbing incident occurred when Edwards called a student in his office and raped the boy while his parent unknowingly sat in a waiting room at the school.
Authorities have yet to release if teachers or other faculty members knew if Edwards abused students on campus.
Edwards resigned as principal last month and was arrested and charged with second-degree forcible sex, two counts of sexual acts with a student, and five counts of indecent liberties with a minor.
Edwards bond was set at $140,000 and he must stay away from anyone under the age of 16-years-old.
