The Oscar buzzworthy flick 12 Years a Slave was off to a strong start when it opened in select theaters nationwide on October 18, 2013. Dubbed by CNN as “agonizingly magnificent” and by rolling out’s editor-at-large Terry Shropshire as a “beautiful film,” it stars Chiwetel Ejiofor (She Hate Me, Talk to Me, American Gangster) who plays Solomon Northup, a musician who’s trafficked from the comforts of freedom at his home in Saratoga Springs, NY into more than a decade of slaver. It’s a must-see film. His co-stars include Michael Fassbender and newcomer Lupita Nyong’O.

12 YEARS A SLAVE opens NATIONWIDE on November 1st, 2013.
