50 Cent sentenced to 3 years probation, avoids domestic violence charges

Curtis Jackson

In June of this year, 50 Cent was charged with five criminal counts after allegedly kicking his baby mama, Daphne Joy, and destroying some of her property in Los Angeles. He was charged with one count of misdemeanor domestic violence and four counts of misdemeanor vandalism for damaging $7,100 worth of her property. He then pleaded not guilty to the charges and denied all allegations. Today, he worked out a deal with prosecutors to get the domestic violence charge dropped, agreeing to plead no contest to one count of misdemeanor vandalism instead. As a result, 50 will serve 3 years on probation, 30 days of community service, attend counseling sessions and pay $7,100 in restitution to Daphne Joy. –joi pearson @joiapearson
