Jada Pinkett Smith says not to “belong to the obedient,” Facebook reacts

Jada Pinkett Smith recently caused a stir on Facebook after she posted an “inspirational” status update that to some seemed to be anti-Christianity.

“We are born with our souls, but it is through our experiences in life that we are given the opportunity to discover the paths needed to develop the self,” wrote Smith. “In order to do this we must not belong to the obedient…we must belong to our truth.”

And while over 42,000 people liked the comment, several fans spoke out against her words and ordered her to reconnect with God and study the bible.

“This is not the truth, so many lost souls. We must be obedient to God and follow his will for our lives!” wrote one fan.

“We are to be obedient to God,” added another.

Jada and her family have long been rumored to be a part of the Church of Scientology. In 2008, the Smiths funded a school that taught children under the principles of “Study Technology,” a concept created by the Church of Scientology’s founder Ron L. Hubbard. Both Willow and Jaden Smith attended the academy before it closed its door amid controversy in June.

It appears that Jada’s critics misread her comments. In fact, it appears that those critics were trying to find a reason to discuss their Christianity and fabricated Jada Pinkett’s anti-Christianity out of thin air so that they may have a reason to talk about themselves.

I think the whole family is strange. Katie Holmes who raised Catholic had the good sense to get her daughter Suri away from that Scientology foolishness. They need to do the same if its not too late.

Here we go again: championing stupidity against wisdom! What she said is true. All the wars and conflict in humanity has been because of religion!!

OMG! lol really if you don’t believe in him its you thats going to hell! The day you are in front of Our Lord Our Savior he will deny you as you deny him in life. Whatever they need to get a life maybe if they wouldn’t be making so much money for what they do maybe they wouldn’t have time for all this nonsense.

Luke 6:37 – Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain. -James 1:26

1 Peter 4:8-9 – And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of [his] brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. -James 4:11

Galatians 3:28 – There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 4:8-9 – And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

      1 Timothy 4:4
For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,

I believe in God and the teachings of Jesus Christ, and studied many religions from a scholarly and philosophical viewpoint as well. I think to have faith is a powerful thing. So powerful, in fact that believe what moves you, live your truth, walk your own path, but do not judge others. For if you, like me, believe the general theme in the Bible, then you believe that He created man in his likeness, and that he loves all. God is Love.

My words god cut off in the above sentance, “So powerful, in fact [that people often get stuck on the individual scriptures and forget to pull themselves back to look at the big picture- the general theme throughout the Bibile- love.] Believe what moves you…

There are a lot of grammar issues throughout my posts, I know. It is out of laziness, not lack of credibility, so please consider what I have to say.

Why aren’t people allowed to have their OWN truth to Christians? Why does it have to be YOUR way or HELL? Who says YOU have it right? MYOB!

According to scripture, human beings are the only creatures God made and created with the ability to think and make decisions for themselves. Therefore since they are able to pick and choose rather follow a pre designed course. So show me how it is Jada is speaking against Christianity? All beliefs come full circle to the maker and creator of all things. GOD!
