Camera brands tout their megapixel (MP) ratings like they’re Sotheby’s auction-worthy artifacts. Professional photographers know it can be one of the most irrelevant specifications when it comes to choosing a camera. Why? It only rates the number of pixels that are captured. However, the more important specification is the physical size of the picture. Without both specs, the quality of the image for the user can be disappointing.
