Jay-Z can’t help but win …
With his controversial Barney’s deal in the rear view, the newly donned vegan can concentrate on bringing a few more Grammy’s home. The nominations are in for the 56th Annual Grammy Awards and Jay-Z leads the pack with a humble eight nods for Magna Carta…Holy Grail, his collaboration with Justin Timberlake, his work on Kendrick Lamar’s Good Kid, M.A.A.D City and much more.
The competition is hot on the music mogul’s trail, however, with Lamar, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Pharrell and Justin Timberlake weighing in at seven nods.
As for the prestigious Album of the Year category, Lamar, whose Good Kid, M.A.A.D City had a very successful year, will go up against country pop star Taylor Swift’s Red, Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories, and the biggest surprise out of the bunch, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis‘ The Heist.
Let’s not forget Kanye West, who could walk away with his 22nd Grammy, for Best Rap Album of the Year. West will battle it out against Jay-Z’s Magna Carta…Holy Grail, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ The Heist, Lamar’s Good Kid…M.A.A.D City and Drizzy Drake’s Nothing Was the Same.
Can we anticipate a wonderful win and possibly another riddled rant from West? Stay tuned. The 2014 Grammy’s air on January 21, 2014. ruthie hawkins/@ruubabie
