Twitter reacts to Kobe’s new injury; out for six more weeks

457219747_crop_northJust as fans were getting use to seeing Kobe Bryant back in his Lakers uniform on the court, Bryant, 35 suffered a knee injury during Tuesday night game versus the Memphis Grizzlies.

According to Lakers officials, the MRI showed the fracture and he is expected to be out for at least six weeks. Bryant’s  injury is not requiring any surgery on the knee and it’s just a matter of letting the bone heal.


“I just hyperextended it, I tend to hyperextend my knees every now and then. All I can do is do the work and everything I can to be back at the highest level,” Bryant said after the announcement.

Kobe just returned  to the court Dec. 8 and was averaging 13.8 points and 6.3 assists in six games, shooting 42.5 percent from the field and averaging 29.5 minutes. He tied his season high with 21 points on 9-of-18 shooting in Tuesday’s win against the Grizzlies, hitting a deep 3-pointer late in the fourth quarter to help clinch the win 96-92.
