Who said the real estate market is dead? After leasing out his Malibu beach home for over a year, The Wolf of Wall Street actor Leonardo DiCaprio has sold his quaint, beach side compound.
According to Realtor, “Located along Malibu Colony Road, the celebrity property was initially offered as a luxury rental in 2012 for a steep $175,000 a month during the summertime. The home then went on the market in November 2012 for a whopping $23 million. It saw its price chopped to $18.9 million seven months later and ultimately sold for roughly $1.5 million under that price – $17.35 million.”
The home, which was built in 1927, consists of a main home and two detached guest houses overlooking the ocean. The main home features an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings and four bedrooms. The main guest house has two bedrooms while the secondary guest home is equipped with a small loft, gym, media room, and office. Combined, the three homes offer a total of seven bedrooms and six bathrooms. Not too shabby!
