Rapper Yelawolf posted photos on Instagram that feature him wearing the Confederate flag. The photos, which have since been removed, were posted this week–one features the hip-hop star at a restaurant and the other is a photo of his luggage.

The restaurant pic features Yela at a table, with the caption reading: “6. Glad to be celebrating a birthday with my brother from another @yelawolf alongside @ounzezilla Bobby Straight Edge — FE FE– Ashley– some guy that I forgot his name but Wolf refers to him as Captain Nashville @bighenry100 @hellrellmg with me as always!!”

The luggage photo features the flag on some of the rapper’s baggage. He also acknowledges the controversy surrounding Kanye West and West’s use of the emblem on his “Yeezus” Tour merchandise.

“5. Whats in my airport security tray has changed a bit I’d say … Look Mamma No Hands !!! @slumerican .SLUMERICAN.MADE. Me do it … Lets hope Canada is as friendly to the Dixie flag as Kanye West is,” Yela wrote. #crackersintoronto see ya soon baby @fefedobsonofficia.”

As stated before, the images have now been taken down. Yelawolf has yet to address the images or offer any explanation. The Alabama native has been embroiled in a minor feud with Brand Nubian rapper Lord Jamar of late, due to Yelawolf’s declaration that Jamar should “shut the f–k up” about whether or not white rappers have the right to rap about homophobia in hip-hop.
