Pusha T has all-but-guaranteed a new Clipse project is in the works. The G.O.O.D. Music rapper confirmed the rumors via a Facebook post this weekend. Pusha posted a pic of he and his bandmate/brother No Malice with a message to all of the duo’s fans:
“It’s coming…”
Along with the post was a link to a Karen Civil report that states the brothers are ending their long hiatus and a new album is forthcoming.
“Pusha T made news recently after posting pictures of The Neptunes in the studio to Instagram, sparking speculation of a soon-to-come sophomore [solo] album,” Karen Civil reports. “However, it has been confirmed that the photos are evidence of the Clipse–comprised of brothers Pusha T and No Malice–hard at work on an untitled independent project, ending a three-year hiatus.”
Fans have long speculated about the official status of the Clipse. With Pusha T pursuing a solo career at G.O.O.D. Music and No Malice embracing spirituality it was uncertain whether they could find common ground musically. No Malice, for his part, addressed the difficulty in finding a happy compromise in a recent interview.
“My brother and I are taking two different approaches to music,” No Malice said in the interview with Pow TV Rap Show. “I’m very proud of the Clipse catalog. I really enjoyed that music and most of all, it’s made me who I am today. That’s not the kind of music I’m doing. I still hold out hope for a Clipse reunion. I really believe that we will be able to do it, but any music that I make is totally 100 percent going to glorify God. That’s what I do. That’s what I’m about. I’m still holding out hope that can happen.”
