A 63-year-old grandmother in Shreveport, La. shot and killed a teenager who attempted to rob her. According to reports by KSLA, the grandmother was robbed by Devon White, 16, after the teen broke into her home while holding a shot gun and demanding money from her safe.

After realizing she only had $55 in coins in the safe, she feared that White would get angry at the small amount and harm her and her grand kids. While reaching into the safe, the grandmother grabbed the coins and also grabbed a gun.

She turned and shot the teenager in the chest. White ran out of the home and collapsed a short distance from her home where police found him dead.

The grandmother said the teen robbed her before and took money and her gun. She bought another gun and hid it in her safe. The teen was linked to other crimes.

The grandmother will not be charged.
