Oklahoma City highway troopers severely beat a 64-year-old deaf man for not obeying their commands. According to Fox4KC, police reported that Pearl Pearson fled from the scene of an accident.

When Pearson was pulled over, he says that police hit him in the face before he could show his ID. Pearson was then beat for seven minutes and arrested. He says that he couldn’t initially hear their orders and has a sign on his car that alerts others of his disability.

Pearson was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and resisting arrest. But he will likely hire an attorney to file a complaint against the officers. The police officers who were involved are currently being investigated.
