Most hip-hop fans are excited about the OutKast reunion. How did it come about?
It came about with the 20 years of Southernplayalistic. This is OutKast showing our appreciation for the fans. We’ve been at it for a long time and it’s great to still be doing music at a high caliber and we’re having fun doing it. I can’t wait to get on stage with my brother Andre and kill it.
Will there be any shows in your hometown of Atlanta soon?
We’ll see. It’s going to be 40 dates. So we’re going to continue releasing dates on our website as time goes on.
What can fans expect after the tour?
We’re going to continue working. I have a solo record coming soon. I’ve been working on it since I finished Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors. So I’m likely going to drop the album sometime in the fall.
