Anti-Obama critic accused of campaign fraud.

Extreme conservative political commentator Dinesh D’Souza was indicted for campaign fraud in connection with various Republican elections. D’Souza is best known for the political film 2016: Obama’s America. In the film he portrays President Obama as an angry black man raised abroad as an anti-colonialist. The film grossed $33.45 million and was regarded as very partisan and only popular with Obama haters during the 2012 presidential election. The film does a hatchet job on Obama, vilifying the president and his associates. The film implies that Obama wants to destroy America and make third-world countries that suffered under white colonial rule more powerful.

Now D’Souza is accused of making illegal campaign contributions in a United States Senate race by using other people’s identities. In addition, he lied to the Federal Elections Committee. In 2012 not only did Souza fail in his efforts to try to smear Obama’s name, but he was also fired from his prestigious job at a university. He was terminated form his job as a dean at Christian King’s College after it was uncovered that he was committing adultery with a much younger woman while married.

D’Souza will be arraigned in Manhattan Federal Court on Friday. Click here to view indictment documents.
