Justin Bieber is in need of people in his corner. But did they mean Toronto’s Rob Ford, more famously known as the “crack mayor?” The White House might move to deport Bieber now, just because the internationally-disgraced Canadian mayor supports him.
Ford was a guest on Washington D.C.’s “Sports Junkies” radio show Thursday morning, when the hosts called Bieber “Canada’s worst export.” The mayor, who has admitted to smoking crack along with an assortment of other embarrassing transgressions, reportedly groaned in response and said, “Come on!”
“He’s a young guy, 19 years old,” Ford said. “I wish I was as successful as he was. Nineteen years old, guys, think back to when you were 19, you know?”
Bieber, who just got out of an orange jumpsuit from driving intoxicated and a “drag racing” episode in South Beach, voluntarily turned himself in to police in — where else? — Toronto on Wednesday for allegedly beating up a limo driver last year. He is being charged with assault.
The quickly spiraling singer had a busy day. Also on Wednesday, Bieber’s lawyer put in a not guilty plea regarding the drag racing case. And if that’s not enough, he also faces an ongoing felony vandalism investigation for causing more than $20,000 damage on his neighbor’s house back in Los Angeles when he reportedly egged it repeatedly.
Ford has stumbled, too. The portly politician had his mayoral powers stripped by a city council after he admitted to using crack “in a drunken stupor,” but he insisted Thursday that he has no plans to step down from his position.
Ford was videotaped intoxicated in public last week, an incident he called a “setback.”
