K-Ci Album Listening Party - August 21, 2006

Timbaland is reaching way back into his past and resurrecting one of the 90s most beloved R&B acts.

The superproducer has announced that he will be involved in an upcoming Jodeci comeback album. MTV News reports that Timbo has confirmed his involvement in a project. Timbaland shared the news via a Hang With video chat from his tour bus.

“I met with [Jodeci member] DeVante [Swing] and I’m going to help work on the new Jodeci album, just for y’all,” Timbaland said. “That’ll be my career coming in full circle, connecting back with Devante,” he added.

Jodeci was on a multiplatinum roll when group member/producer Devante Swing recruited a young Timbaland and Missy Elliott for production work, most notably on the group’s 1995 album The Show, the After-Party, the Hotel. Devante Swing and Timbaland also worked together on outside productions, and they handled the only album by Elliott’s early girl group, Sista, 1994s 4 All the Sistas Around Da World.

No further details have been announced regarding the proposed project. Since 1996, the four members have Jodeci have worked on various outside projects. Members of the group have also been rumored to have suffered from drug addiction and chronic health issues.
