During the NBA All-Star weekend in New Orleans, The Cliffhanger All-Star Concert Series has a roster filled with the hottest artists in R&B and Hip Hop. Starting Friday, Feb. 14, Cliffhanger Productions, Knowledge Masters and I.M.P.A.C.T Charity Experience will take over The Howlin’ Wolf in New Orleans for a three-day concert series with live performances by Rick Ross, Yung Houston, T.I., Miguel, Elle Varner, Yo Gotti and more, benefitting IMPACT Charity Experience, Mandela’s Foundation Africa Rising, Root of Music, and Home Mission, Inc.

These charitable events align with IMPACT Charity Experience’s mission which is to emphasize the importance of giving back by utilizing a platform of high profile individuals and events.

IMPACT, short for Individuals Making Progress Across Celebrity Thresholds, is the brainchild of Justice, who is a seasoned hospitality executive with more than a decade of experience. Read what she has to say.

What is the organization’s mission?
The mission of I.M.P.A.C.T Charity Experience is to utilize major platforms,  i.e. All-Star, and the celebrities who participate in such events to bring awareness and resources to charities.

How will the community benefit from the events?
The talent participating in the Cliffhanger All-Star Concert Series are donating their time, voice and talents to the beneficiaries. For instance, on Saturday we’re volunteering at Home Mission, Inc. during their weekly feeding and clothing closet for the homeless. At each event, we’ll have reps on hand to disseminate information about the organizations to partygoers and VIPs in attendance. Also on Sunday, celebs are giving their time and talent to raise awareness about the charities during an event with the media. A portion of proceeds from Sunday’s brunch will be donated to one of the organizations.

How are you spreading the word about the party?
There is a full marketing campaign in place. We’re utilizing radio, the internet and of course social media to spread the word about the events. We’re hoping for a major turnout.

How important are celebrities to the New Orleans community? What type impact do they leave?
With the current influence celebrities have on trends and society as a whole, their involvement in the promotion of these great non-profit organizations goes a long way. New Orleans is filled with an array of NPOs that its citizens depend on. In a lot of instances, creating brand awareness is the difference between them simply surviving and thriving.

The impact is two-fold. For the organizations, it’s a boost typically felt behind the scenes by volunteers, it raises awareness in the media and it helps with donations. For those receiving assistance, it’s a morale booster. To know that you matter to someone you admire or have seen on TV may give them the push to fight another day.
