Happy 47th birthday Chante Moore! Moore, an R&B singer of hits whose hits include “Old School Lovin,” “Alright” and “I’m What You Need,” grew up in a gospel-singing family and learned to sing in church. By high school, she decided she wanted to make a career out of singing.
She dedicated her 1999 single “Chanté’s Got a Man” to her then-husband Kadeem Hardison. Moore showed off the full range of her singing voice with the song “Wey U,” which was featured on the soundtrack to the Angela Bassett-helmed film, Waiting to Exhale.
Moore released several duets with her second husband, Kenny Lattimore, featuring original songs and covers of other famous R&B duets. In 2013, she joined the cast of the reality TV show “R&B Divas L.A.” with Kelly Price, Dawn Robinson (of En Vogue), Michel’le, Lil’ Mo and Claudette Ortiz.
