Former NFL star Darren Sharper arraigned on charges of drugging and sexually assaulting multiple women

Former Pro Football Player Darren Sharper Appears in Court

As previously reported, former New Orleans Saints NFL star Darren Sharper was arrested on several rape charges. On Jan. 17, the 5-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champ was arrested in L.A. after being linked to two sexual assaults, one that occurred in October 2013 and the other in January 2014. Sharper, who was booked at a Los Angeles jail, was later released on $200k bail. As for the alleged victims of the sexual assault, their names and identities were never released.

Unfortunately for Sharper, the allegations have become even more shocking and now include seven female victims in four states. According to the Los Angeles Times, “Sharper, 38, was charged last week with seven rape and drug counts involving four women he allegedly met at a West Hollywood nightclub. Court documents filed Friday revealed additional allegations in Las Vegas, New Orleans and Tempe, Ariz., that are all still under investigation.”

The 38-year-old former NFLer remains free on the $200K bond, with the conditions to surrender his passport, stay in L.A. and avoid the West Hollywood club.

If convicted of the alleged drugging and sexual assaults, Sharer could face 30 years imprisonment. As for Sharper’s attorneys, they are claiming his innocence.

“We look forward to the true facts being revealed in this case, and we are hopeful that Mr. Sharper will be fully exonerated before this case is concluded,” attorney Blair Berk said outside the courtroom.
