Rolling out spoke with actors from the movie The Single Moms Club at the Hollywood red carpet premiere.

Actress Zulay Henao gives insight as to why this film was important to her as a child of divorced parents. “The subject matter is so relevant and it’s a good dialogue to have. Actress, Cocoa Brown, another star in the film, had some fears of her own being a single mother in real life.

“There are stereotypes about single motherhood. When I became one I was scared I was going to be stuck with this scarlet letter. This movie let me know that single mothers should be applauded. We wear a cape and some of us are raising our babies completely on our own.”

Big- and small-screen favorite, actress Jenifer Lewis uses her eight aunts as inspiration for the characters she plays. When asked about real-life single moms Lewis stated, “We need to honor and support our single mothers. It’s not easy.”
