NFL owner busted for driving with drugs

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay was arrested late Sunday evening and faces preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance.


According to a report by The IndyChannel.com, police booked Irsay into Hamilton County Jail in Carmel, Ind., at 3 a.m. Monday.

Irsay took ownership of the team in 1997 and also serves as the chief executive officer. His father, Robert, passed away that year, and the then-37-year-old became the youngest owneriNFL history.

Having overseen an era of excellence during Peyton Manning tenure as starting quarterback, Indianapolis was fortunate enough to draft Andrew Luck No. 1 overall in 2012 as the successor under center. That’s resulted in playoff trips in each of the past two seasons.
