In one way or another, the husbands of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” always seem to find a way into the spotlight, or rather into the mix, on the reality show. But no other husband has so readily embraced that airtime as Cynthia Bailey’s husband, Peter Thomas, who has had more than a few dramatic moments with both husbands and wives alike on the show. And now it appears that Thomas will get a spotlight of his own as reports claim that he’s shopping a spin-off series. In a recent interview with an Atlanta radio station, Thomas explained why he and the other husbands are a big draw for fans.

Thomas and Bailey recently sat down for a chat with Big Tigger of V-103 and Thomas spoke about how Bravo realized how popular the husbands were when they appeared on an episode of “Watch What Happens Live.”

“We weren’t trying to create nothing [sic]. What happened was I went to Andy Cohen show and was like ‘why don’t you ever have us up here, you’re on five days a week’ and he said ‘you know what Peter that’s a good idea, I’m going to have you guys on here.’ So we went up there and [drew] the highest rating the show’s ever [had] with the four guys on it. So of course it’s a business thing and Bravo see’s that ‘oh my god, people care about these guys, we didn’t even know they exist,’ ” Thomas explained.

Now, Thomas seems to be the first husband capitalizing on that popularity as it’s been confirmed that he’s filming a reality show of his own. Reports claim that the series will feature fellow husbands Apollo Nida and Gregg Leakes and it will center around the drama that goes on in his Bar One Lounge.

However, if reports about Thomas’ alleged legal problems with Bar One are true, he may not have a place to film for too long. Check out what he had to say about Bar One after the cut. –nicholas robinson
