Kevin Ollie led the Uconn Huskies to a 60-54 victory over the University of Kentucky in the NCAA Championship game. The Huskies were led by Shabazz Napier who scored 22 points and controlled the pace of the game with scoring and veteran leadership.

After trailing early in the first half, Kentucky made several runs and used a zone defense to frustrate Uconn. However, the Huskies were able to capitalize off of Kentucky turnovers late in the game. A combination of three-point plays and Kentucky’s missed free throws sealed the deal.

With the victory, Ollie becomes just the fourth black head coach to win the NCAA championship and the first to win since Tubby Smith’s victory in 1998.
