Blu (voiced by Jesse Eisenberg), and Jewel (voiced by Anne Hathaway) are hanging out with their kids in Rio when Jewel learns that her former owner has found a flock of blue macaws in the Amazon. Jewel decides to investigate the situation firsthand, so she rounds up her family and flies off into the wild blue yonder.
The kiddie set will thoroughly enjoy this film, and it has just enough chutzpah (read: adult themes) to keep their escorts entertained, too. With a rocking soundtrack featuring Janelle Monae, B.o.B, Sergio Mendes and Siedah Garrett, Rio 2 has all the elements necessary for scoring a big win at the box office. –p.d. lee
