The day the New York Knicks hired Phil Jackson as team president, many knew that it was only a matter of time before Mike Woodson would be out of a job. The Knicks decided to fire Woodson after three seasons with the Knicks.
During his tenure, Woodson was able to revitalize the Knicks struggling franchise. He won 109 games and led the team to their first Atlantic Division title in 19 years.
However, the team missed the playoffs this season and struggled with their identity. Another issue is the decision that Carmelo Anthony will make regarding his future.
Anthony can sign with another team this summer and many believe that he is considering leaving New York for Chicago or L.A.
Jackson will attempt to keep Anthony happy and is currently searching for an all-new coaching staff.
