Seems Flavor Flav can’t stay out of the news, but he will manage to stay out of jail.

Flav was facing felony assault and child endangerment with a weapon charges that carried up to 12 years in prison for allegedly threatening the 17-year-old son of his fiancée, Liz Trujillo. Trujillo says the Public Enemy hype man and reality TV star threw her around and threatened her son with a 20 inch butcher knife when he attempted to intervene.

55-year- old Flav, real name William Drayton, instead pled guilty in a Las Vegas court to a lessor misdemeanor charge of attempted battery.

A court date of August 18 has been set for the case.
